The treasure of Bükfürdő - the miraculous water
Few of such waters comply with the regulations, which are consumable both externally and internally and of which beneficial effects are so strong and fast.
The medicinal water of Bük broke out, causing a surprise in 1957, when searching for crude oil, the thermal water found its way from the depth of 1282 meters. Taking the measure of the unexpected gift, a bath was built in the settlement in 1962. It was declared to be legally medicinal water in 1965, which determined its further application. In the seventies gradually – by the development of covered, several swimming pools, hotels, pensions and holiday camps – it became a spa place of international reputation. It grew to be the second biggest spa of the country by the inauguration of the recreation park in 1992.

Like as in every medicinal thermal water, we can also find every necessary component in the water of Bük – but in multiple quantities. Its excellent consistence makes it to be so unique that, not only in our country but neither in Europe it is possible to find a similar one. Due to its high content of minerals it has a concentrated effect on our body, and with its consumption and the physiotherapeutic treatments based on it – if we are not citing medical opinion – it has fast and concentrated effects.

Comparison of the curative waters of Hungary:
In Hungary the application of medicinal water denomination is regulated by the law and permitted by the OGYFI. (Board of National Medicinal Places and Medicinal Bathes).74/1999. (XII. 25.) according to the 2nd point of supplement no. 2 of EüM (Ministry of Health) provision:
"1. Medicinal water is such natural mineral water, which has proven medicinal effect.
2. From the aspect of the permission of the medicinal water denomination’s application
a) in case of external use (as bathing water), medicinal water is the water which is complying with the requirements of the externally applicable mineral water furthermore its content of dissolved minerals and its chemical nature generated during the leaching by water of natural minerals (rocks), is constant, it does not contain any materials harmful to health,
b) in case of internal application (with the aim of drinking, bottling, inhalation) medicinal water is the water
ba) in case it complies with the requirements of mineral water and
bb) which is drinkable or suitable for inhalation with keeping the regulations of consumption and
bc) it has proven medicinal effect in such application. ..."
